Michelle Jones is a woman on a mission; to spread joy and kindness throughout the world through her two businesses – Michelle Jones Weddings, where she is a wedding planner extraordinaire and Kind Currency, a community interest company, designed to protect, sustain and celebrate, kind people, kind businesses and kind causes. Before February she was going it all alone, which isn’t always easy for anyone, but she’s not alone anymore, not now she’s joined the This is Me family.
Having previously never heard of us, it was upon the recommendation of a friend who had recently become a client that Michelle decided to get in touch to see if there would be any potential help available for her. Living with several health conditions, both physical and mental health, she had been struggling with balance and achieving all that needed to be done along with looking after her two children and the impact of sensory overload and exhaustion.
While she absolutely loves what she does, she is the first to admit that she is a bit of a workaholic in relation to helping others. However, Michelle finds that it does help massively to distract her from the pain and exhaustion of her illnesses, something which she finds incredibly frustrating to deal with daily. Managing her illnesses alongside normal life requires substantial planning. Time management is absolutely essential to remain in control and organised.
So when the idea of having help was offered, Michelle jumped at the chance and even in the short time that she’s been with us, is already reaping the benefits of having a Support Worker. Knowing that there’s someone there who she can bounce ideas off and who she can talk to openly without worrying about struggling with words or her brain fog being an issue has been a huge benefit. Michelle’s support worker also helps out on the PR and Media side which greatly frees up her time to concentrate on other things.
With this support in place, Michelle already feels like she’s in a much better position to progress in both businesses and is really looking forward to seeing what the future is going to bring. She’s an absolute inspiration and we’re thrilled that we get to help on her journey.
